Gerry & Marty have been teaching improv for many years, and now they can bring their skills to your place in a range of specifically engineered workshops. As with all of their events, they can tailor the workshops to your explicit wants and needs, but below is a list of what they generally offer.

What Gerry & Marty teach will improve the participants EIS's (Essential Improv Skills) which include spontaneity, creativity, physicality, peripherals, timing, listening, mime, characterisation, clarity, rhyme and of course teamwork and confidence.

Any student that is unwilling to play or perform is perfectly at liberty not to, but the workshops are generally a lot of fun and promote silliness and the rejection of embarrassment, and so they have a great record of inclusion with normally shy and retiring participants.

Perfect for an after-school or after-work event, this workshop focuses on the confidence, team-work and general EIS's of the participants. The session begins with a demonstration of some of our most influential short-form improvisation games, followed by physical, vocal and creativity based warm ups.

Gerry & Marty then split the participants into smaller teams, depending on the overall size of the group, and each improver teaches their group one of our games. Having completed at least two rotations and therefore having learnt at least two games, each student will then get the chance to demonstrate their new skills in front of their peers in a performance at the end of the session.

The half-day workshops are around 4 hours long and are an extension of the 2 Hour format. The participants get to try out 5 games as opposed to 2 or 3, and there is the opportunity to perform in the small showcase at the end of the session in a variety of games as opposed to just the one. They delve deeper into the mechanics of the EIS's and get them to focus more diligently on what they are doing and why.

Great for a half-term or even a weekend event, the full day workshop includes far more detail than its shorter counter-parts. The theory of improv will be explored, as with the participants Gerry & Marty try to ascertain why what they do is amusing.

The performance at the end of the session will be larger-scale and we will even include the teachings of our more complex singing games involving our musicians.
